Giatec SmartRock™ is a ruggedized waterproofwireless sensor/logger for monitoring the temperature of concretefrom fresh stage to hardened stage. The SmartRock™ can be placed inthe concrete formwork (installed on the rebar) before pouring tomonitor the temperature of concrete in situ. The continuousmeasurements are recorded on the SmartRock™ memory and can bedownloaded any time during the concrete setting and hardeningonsite using the mobile application on smartphone/tablet.The continuous monitoring of concrete temperature can be used asa QC/QA method as well as maturity-based strength estimation ofconcrete. The field monitoring of concrete temperature can alsohelp with optimizing the formwork removal time, application of loadon the structure, and adjusting the curing temperature of concreteonsite.
